About Course

A Certified Critical Care Pharmacist (CCCP) course is a preparatory course for pharmacists who want to take the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Critical Care Pharmacy Specialty Certification Examination. The course covers the knowledge domains and clinical skills required for pharmacists who practice in critical care settings, such as intensive care units, emergency departments, and trauma centers. The CCCP course is designed for pharmacists who have at least two years of experience in critical care pharmacy or have completed a postgraduate year two (PGY2) residency in critical care pharmacy. The course may also benefit pharmacists who want to enhance their professional development and competency in critical care pharmacy.

Eligibilities

To become a CCCP, one must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Graduation from an accredited pharmacy program or a program that qualifies the individual to practice in their jurisdiction.
A current, active license to practice pharmacy in the U.S. or another jurisdiction.
At least four years of critical care pharmacy practice experience within the past seven years, with at least 50% of time spent in the scope defined by the exam content outline; or Successful completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency within the past seven years, plus at least two years of critical care pharmacy practice experience with at least 50% of time spent in the scope defined by the exam content outline;
Successful completion of a PGY2 pharmacy residency in critical care within the past seven years.
